Academic Male Choir PSaldo…
The Academic Male Choir Psaldo was founded in 1996 in Helsinki, Finland. The choir’s a cappella repertoire features both traditional and contemporary Finnish as well as international choral music. In addition to its own performances, the choir has collaborated with prominent orchestras and conductors across Europe.
Since its inception, the choir has been composed mostly of alumni from the Helsinki School of Economics (nowadays Aalto University School of Business) and its renowned male choir. However, nowadays many Psaldo’s singers have extensive experience also in singing in various other choirs as well, e.g The Choir of Boys and Young Men of Helsinki Cathedral, Cantores Minores. Psaldo is dedicated to artistic excellence and pursues high quality while embracing the joy of singing.
The choir has performed abroad on numerous occasions, including tours in France, Germany, Spain, Ireland, Slovakia and Hungary. Psaldo has also released three a cappella recordings featuring Finnish male choir music and Christmas carols.
Over the past 10-15 years, Psaldo has participated in many international choir competitions in Finland and throughout Europe, earning several gold metals, podiums and best male choir prizes. In 2026 Psaldo will celebrate its 30th anniversary with events such as concert tour in Japan.
Psaldo is conducted by Mr. Hiski Wallenius (Msc.Mus.).
